How do I place orders for Hero Arts products?

If you already have an active account with Spellbinders, then it is as simple as adding Hero products to your cart as you shop on the Spellbinders wholesale website. You can add product from both brands to your cart and they will all ship together.

When will the Hero products be available?

During the transition period, we are busy moving product from Hero’s Richmond, CA facility to our warehouse in Phoenix, AZ. As you can imagine, we need a bit of time to not only physically move the product, but also create space in our warehouse for it, and to get it entered into our inventory systems. Thus, we plan to make products available on Wednesday, November 6th.

What will happen to my wholesale discount?

If you have an existing account with Spellbinders, your wholesale discount will be the same for Hero Arts branded product as it is for Spellbinders branded products.

I use a broker to help manage my Hero Arts account. What will happen to the brokers?

We will no longer be using sales representatives effective November 1st. If you are a store that uses a sales rep and need help with anything, you can reach out to us by emailing service@heroarts.com and we will help you place orders or answer any questions you might have. Doing so will allow us to offer better discounts to the stores, and to create additional programs and opportunities to support the brands.

Who will my account manager be moving forward?

We are currently assessing how we will assign account management for the two brands, with one goal: to assign you to one account manager that can service your needs for both brands. As we work to align our account managers under the expanded organization, for any Hero Arts related inquiries, you can email service@heroarts.com and we will ensure your questions are answered.

What will happen to ShopBox?

Our goal is to work with retailers to identify which programs are adding the most value for stores, and to continue offering them. ShopBox is one of the programs in that consideration set. From what we see and hear anecdotally, this program provides tremendous value for retailers, and therefore, we plan to offer a ShopBox for the January catalog release. Then long term, we’ll collect retailer feedback to learn more about the program to determine its path forward.

Will the Hero Arts release calendar stay the same as it was in 2024?

We are currently assessing the best cadence for releases in 2025. We would like to hear feedback from you, our retailers, before we make massive changes. That said, we are considering moving to a more monthly-based launch cadence to provide frequent new news and to help with budgets and cash flow for the stores (and consumers). We will be working on that immediately after the close so we can develop a plan for 2025.

Will Hero Arts be at Collins and Namta?

Yes! There are no changes planned for Hero’s plans to participate in the January 2025 virtual event, the June 2025 Utopia event, and Namta in Seattle. Additionally, Hero Arts will have a presence at Creativeworld in Germany, alongside the Spellbinders brand.

Are you planning to phase out the Hero Arts brand, or combine it with Spellbinders?

Absolutely not! Hero Arts has a long and rich history and we intend to build on that as we reinvest in the brand. This includes preserving the Hero Arts style and maintaining a rich catalog of Hero Arts products.

This new chapter will offer a rich array of education tools, selling materials, products styles, and creative designs, all with the same distinctive and innovative style you adore from Hero Arts.

Will you retain the Buy 6, Get 1 Free Program?

As with all the Hero programs, we are assessing the viability of continuing them based on our ability to execute and their value to the retailers. This is one that we believe holds great value to retailers, but is not easy for us to execute. We are currently working on ways to streamline this, which may mean offering it in a modified way.

Hero Arts products will be available  November 6th.

Spellbinders Paper Arts Acquires Hero Arts

Two leading companies in the craft industry join forces to create new opportunities for creativity and innovation

Spellbinders Paper Arts, a global leader in die-cutting, hot-foiling, letterpress, and crafting products, announced November 1, 2024 that it has acquired Hero Arts, a family-owned company that has been producing high-quality stamps, inks, and accessories for 50 years. The varied strengths and expertise of the two iconic brands are coming together to create a dynamic and powerful force in the arts & crafts community.

"We are thrilled to welcome Hero Arts to the Spellbinders family," said Marc Petrine, President of Spellbinders Paper Arts. "Hero Arts is a respected and trusted brand that shares our passion for creativity and innovation. Together, we will be able to offer our customers more choices, more value, and more inspiration for their crafting needs."

Hero Arts has a long and rich history of beautiful designs and high-quality products that are beloved in the industry. With a vision towards keeping the Hero Arts style unique and distinctive, as well as maintaining the rich catalog of Hero Arts products, Spellbinders plans to streamline operational and back-end functioning for greater efficiencies that will benefit supporters of both brands. The convenience of ordering greater assortments from Spellbinders Paper Arts and Hero Arts from one trusted source will make shopping easier for both crafters and retailers.

“Our historical success, long-term brand vision and product assortments perfectly complement the vision of the Spellbinders team and their direction,” agree Hero Arts co-owners and husband-wife team Aaron Leventhal and Laura Ackerman. “We’re committed to continued innovation and bringing amazing designs and products to the craft industry, and we’re enthusiastic about what the next fifty years of Hero Arts will bring with Spellbinders.”

With a long and productive relationship spanning decades, the acquisition of Hero Arts will be a natural and supportive connection between the two brands. “I’ve been friends with Aaron for over twenty years.” Denzil Quick, V.P. of Business Development for Spellbinders says. “It is an honor to be the caretaker of such a distinguished industry icon like Hero Arts. We take great pride in continuing the family legacy.” The increased opportunities for events, product education and engagement will help bring the joy of crafting to new markets across the globe.
